Environment. Please note that the following environment is required to use ChattyInfty. 1. The operating system should be either Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 and 8, 2. The Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later is installed, 3. Microsoft speech API version 5 is installed. To use ChattyInfty, Microsoft speech API version 5 should be installed in your PC. Microsoft Speech API, Ver. 5 may be already installed in your PC if you are a user of popular screen readers. Authoring math documents with speech output ChattyInfty is an accessible editor for math documents with speech output, usable by visually disabled people. Math expressions can be easily input and edited using only keyboard, with simultaneous speech output of symbols and math structure with key operations. This software was developed by adding speech output interface to "InftyEditor", which interface uses Microsoft speech API. Most of InftyEditor functions e.g. conversion of the edited results into LaTeX, PDF, MathML, etc., can be also used in ChattyInfty. The default file format of ChattyInfty is identical with that of InftyEditor (iml). Math expressions ranging from secondary education to university level, or more-high level ones used by mathematicians, can be easily read and written by using ChattyInfty. 3. Combination with Math OCR In addition, if you installed a math OCR software, InftyReader Version 2.8.0 or newer, released from , you could import a recognition result of a scanned image directly into the environment of ChattyInfty, which image is taken from a scientific document including math expressions. Thus, combining Scanner + InftyReader + ChattyInfty, blind people can read directly printed scientific documents including math for themselves. 4. License ChattyInfty Ver.2.0 is usable free of charge for 15 days in total after installation. If you use three days per week, for example, then you can use the software for 5 weeks. If you wish to use it further, please purchase a license key on the web site of Science Accessibility Net : http://www.sciaccess.net/en/ChattyInfty/index.html There are two types of the license key: standard and student versions. When ordering the student license, you will be required to show a student identification. A period of validity for the student-license will be terminated in one year since the software activation. After the expiration date, you cannot use software any more unless you purchase another license, again. By using one standard-license key, you may install ChattyInfty into two PC's while you may install it into only one machine With the student-license key. ChattyInfty is usable under the following agreement. (1) You may not modify the software in any manner. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software. (2) You may not sell the software without making a formal agreement with Science Accessibility Net. You may distribute the software only free of charge, without modifying the zip package of the software. (3) Science Accessibility Net and the author shall have no obligation to correct errors and inconveniences of the software.
